From Us To You
August 1, 2022
“No news is good news” or so the old saying goes. It turns out though, the majority of WRGN’s listeners (as well as those of our sister station WIVH), don’t agree with that statement. We appreciate all of you who have taken the time to respond to our survey over the past two months concerning the news that we carry on WRGN.
A more detailed analysis of the results of our news survey can be found here, but it turns out that many of you consider WRGN your primary source of news and think it is important that we continue to carry the news on WRGN. While there were some outliers on both ends of the spectrum, the overwhelming majority are also satisfied with both the source of our news and the perspective offered.
The results of the survey brought to mind another old saying attributed variously to 15th century poet John Lydgate as well as Abraham Lincoln: “You can satisfy some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot satisfy all of the people all the time.” We realize the truth of this statement, and are thankful for your encouragement when we get it right, and even your critique when you feel there are things we could do better, and we are very grateful for the grace and understanding of those who view things differently.
In the end, this means that we will continue to carry SRN News, making some tweaks and adjustments as necessary for flow of programming, timing, and content. Our desire remains for you to be informed to better fulfill the Lord’s words in the parable he gave in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.”
Grace to you,
Tim Madeira
