Program on Ukraine
The Luzerne County Community College Human Services Club, Psychology Club, Horticulture Club, and BASIC Club will hold a program on Ukraine on Tuesday, May 3, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at the College’s Educational Conference Center.
The program will include a lecture by Jeff Schultz, associate professor of history/social science at LCCC, titled, “Target Kiev: Past and Present Invasions of Ukraine.” In addition, Father Andrii Dumnych, of St. Michael’s Byzantine Church in Pittston, will present “Supporting the People of Ukraine.”
Donations of needed supplies will be collected at the program and will be delivered to St. Michael’s Byzantine Church and shipped to Ukraine. Suggested items for donations include women’s and men’s hygiene products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, medical supplies, bandages, band-aids, anti-bacterial sprays and ointments, first aid kits, diapers, baby wipes, new children’s underwear and socks, and pet food.
