Summertime and the livin’ is easy!

Okay, that may be your dream, but not necessarily your reality this summer! Here at the WRGN studios, it does seem like things slow down just a little bit for a month or so before things really kick up in the fall. The song that phrase comes from was written by the Gershwin brothers as a lullaby. One of my favorite versions was sung by Mahalia Jackson, known as the Queen of Gospel, and it was one of the few non-religious songs she recorded. There’s another line in the lullaby that talks about the baby one day spreading its wings and taking to the sky, reminding me of the many recent graduates from high school or college that are beginning that process.

If you have kids, grandkids, or other friends or family members who recently graduated, we want to be a resource for you as you help them spread their wings! We offer great programs to equip you for all stages of marriage and parenting, like a recent Focus on the Family broadcast with Dr. David Gudgel called “Preparing Your Teen to Leave Home.”
