From Us To You
April 27, 2021
I have a friend who has a collection of nearly a hundred baseball caps. I’m not much of a hat wearer myself, although on a bad hair day or when it’s really sunny out, a baseball cap can be a good thing.
Here at WRGN, our staff is good at wearing many hats! On any given day, the staff can be found on the air, cutting the grass, praying with someone on the phone, vacuuming, stuffing envelopes for a mailing, or occasionally heading up to a tower site to repair equipment. We have all learned to not get too attached to whatever job we’re doing at the time.
Paul was much the same way. In the book of Acts we find him teaching in the synagogue, writing letters to the churches, going on missionary journeys, and making tents!
As Christ followers, no matter what “job” we may be doing on any given day, we are always called to do it “as to the Lord,” (Colossians 3:23). Keeping this idea in the front of our minds can help us to realize that our vocation is only a a part of who we are. Yes, it puts food on the table, but we are believers first and foremost. This can make all the difference in the world when our jobs get tough. We pray that this perspective helps you in your day-to-day life!
For God’s glory,

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
