From Us to You – September 2024

Sir Isaac Newton, the famous English scientist, once said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Many discoveries have been made over the years based on the theories that Newton put forth in his lifetime. Ironically, he was the first to pass the credit back to those who studied and theorized before him. Whether Newton knew it or not, even that statement came from a biblical principle. Ephesians 2:20 says “…built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone.”

As members of the body of Christ, our firm foundation begins with Christ. We also recognize that those in the body of Christ who have come before us have built on that foundation, and we benefit from it! As WRGN celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we are grateful for the work of Burl and Shirley Updyke, founders of WRGN, and countless others who sacrificed to make this ministry possible.

WRGN itself is not the end goal. The goal is to help fulfill the Great Commission through the preaching of the Word, music that both honors God and leads others to Christ, and resources to help listeners grow stronger in their faith. One of our listeners put it this way, “What you do on the air makes a huge difference! I can’t say that strongly enough. It has been the consistent input of WRGN in my life on a daily basis that has given me encouragement…”

While the foundation has been laid by others…your support has built on that foundation and enables us to provide the encouragement and hope that so many need!
