“What in the world is going on?” Racism, riots, and ‘rona dominate the headlines, and for many it feels like the world is falling apart. Our hope is not in this world, however–it is found in the Lord. In 2 Timothy 3:13, Paul tells Timothy “evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
So what’s a Christian to do? 2 Timothy 3:14 goes on to say, “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it.” The things that are going on around us should not shake our faith in God or His sovereignty, and should only serve to drive us deeper into His Word. Filling our hearts and minds with the Scripture and His promises is the only thing that will make us truly wise.
As I sat down to write this, I had just finished a conversation with Joanne who told me how a friend had recommended that she listen to WRGN after she first got saved. Joanne shared how listening “really, really, really helped me grow in my daily walk with the Lord in my early years as a Christian.” She apologized for taking up my time, but she has no idea how much she encouraged me!
Like everyone, we’ve been impacted by the coronavirus restrictions and have had much less direct contact with listeners, so Joanne’s words remind me of the importance of what we do here at WRGN: the Scripture in word and song, the biblical perspective on the events of the day, and the building of our faith that happens every day here.
As you reach out to those who are confused about what is happening around them, let them know they will find hope, healing, and salvation through faith in Jesus. Tell them about Christian radio and help them–like Joanne–grow!
