March 2025

Spring is in the air at The Good News Library! March is Women’s History Month, and you’ll find plenty of information (and fun stuff!) about women who have impacted the world and our nation for the cause of Christ. Stop by for new displays, activities for the kids, themed book and movie selections, and more!

The latest books in the kids’ series “Tales of Boldness and Faith” are out now! In The Angel Orphan, Leah Boden explores the life of Charlotte Mason. This brave young girl emerged as a devoted leader in education during the 1900s. Chronicles of Wonder tells the story of C.S. Lewis. It follows him from childhood at boarding school, through the Great War, to his time as a professor at Oxford. These stories encourage young readers to live boldly for Christ. They are great for family read-alouds or for older kids who read on their own.

Cindy K. Sprouls’ novel, Coal Black Lies, is set five years after Joshua leaves the Barton family’s coal mine in Appalachia. His journey uncovers the truth about his daughter’s death, a reality he struggles to accept. Despite his misgivings with his former employer, Joshua joins forces with Thomas Barton to forge a future of peace, teaching readers that believing the bitter lies you tell yourself leaves little room for the sweetness of truth.

The Good News Library’s Spring Reading Challenge got underway on March 1. Kids can add a spring flower to the library window for every book they read. It’s a fun way to spark their love for reading! Stop by the library to learn more. We are open weekdays 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.
